There’s always something happening in Loveland, CO! No matter what time of year it is, you can find a festival or event taking place. 1. Annual Sweetheart Dance – February
The Sweetheart Dance is a long-standing tradition in Loveland dating back to the 1940s. The dance attracts hundreds of people from all over town. In addition to the dance itself, there’s also a parade and street fair. This is a great time to catch up with friends and relax for a night. The event takes place in February. People of all ages are invited to attend. They do celebrate by dancing, but there is no age limit.
2. Annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon – May
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is one of Loveland’s most popular events, drawing in people from all over the country every year. If you’re a runner or enjoy watching them run by, this is a great event to attend! However, the event welcomes people of all athletic ability levels. In addition to running, there’s also a live concert, family events, and a chance to win prizes!
3. Chili Cook-off – September
Every year in September, Loveland throws a chili cook-off at Caras Park in downtown Loveland. You can sample traditional chili or chili with a twist while listening to live music. If you don’t want to eat chili, there’s also a car show and other food vendors for you to enjoy!
4. Festival of Lights – November/December
Every year Loveland holds a Festival of Lights at the end of November or early December. The location varies from year to year, but this is a wonderful chance to take in some holiday cheer. If you’re looking for an event that’s fun for the whole family, this is it! There are lights and other decorations throughout Loveland as well as special events such as carolers and Santa Claus.
5. Artwalk – May
Every year the town of Loveland holds an Artwalk. This event takes place on the first Friday in May and is a wonderful chance to get out and support local artists. There’s also live music, food vendors, and other events taking place throughout town.
6. St. Patrick’s Day Parade – March
This is the largest parade in all of Colorado and draws in crowds from far and wide. The parade typically takes place on the 17th of March each year so be sure to mark your calendars! You’ll want to arrive early to get a good spot, but it’s well worth the wait. Afterward, make sure you stick around and enjoy the rest of the festivities taking place throughout Loveland!
7. Estes Park Wool Market – October
The Estes Park Wool Market is held in October every year. This event is a wonderful way to support the Estes Valley community. Attendees can learn about and purchase items made from locally farmed sheep! It’s even complete with a wool-spinning demonstration.
8. Fourth of July Celebration – July 4th
Every year Loveland celebrates Independence Day with a spectacular event in downtown Loveland. The celebration typically ends with a fireworks show at around 9 p.m. However, this celebration is not to be missed! There’s also a parade that morning and a 5k run/walk earlier in the day.
9. Downtown Business Association Sidewalk Sale – November
In early November, Loveland holds a sidewalk sale downtown for people looking for a unique shopping experience. Shops remain open during the day so you can stop by and get a feel for what Loveland has to offer.
10. Harvest Festival – September/October
The Harvest Festival is held in October every year, right after the Festival of Lights ends! This event was formerly known as FaLaLa-Ween but was changed in 2014 to accommodate all of the family fun. If you’re looking for a great way to get into the Halloween spirit, this is it! There are events throughout Loveland and everyone is invited to attend.
